When a room has interesting angles and roof lines, my immediate desire is to accentuate them. And this room definitely has THE feature wall of ALL feature walls with its stunning pewter and metallic gold blossom wallpaper from Liberty of London. This detail completely transformed the space and I am in love!

The project was a unique one because we were working with previously purchased furniture from big brother’s room across the hall (which we designed in 2021). That’s right, the white spindle crib, tweed bouclé glider, carved wood side table, whitewashed ash dresser, wood ball mirror and canvas bean bag were all passed along to use in this new nursery. So with the main pieces established, I got to work to create a warm and traditional design inspired by a classic English feel.

I selected textiles that played up a pink, plum and burgundy colour story while incorporating some really stunning floral patterns to complement the wallpaper. The room feels fresh and airy yet still has some richness to it, with the bolder accent colours we selected. I love the addition of the sandy pink rug, beautiful vintage-inspired floral cushion cover and plum crib sheet. I even thoughtfully sourced knit dolls and plush toys that would complement the overall feel of the room.

We added a swan art print with the most beautiful rosie pink background, a travertine table lamp, rattan doll chair, felted swan mobile and a cute little lamb head wall hanging! My client also had some large book display shelves she had been meaning to use, so we hung those up above the bean bag to create a special reading nook the whole family can enjoy. I hope you love this berry blossom project as much as I do!
