When I was asked to design this little girl’s room, the space was almost completely bare and needed some major TLC! We had a beautiful black upholstered bed frame to make use of, which inspired a high contrast and minimal aesthetic, with soft pink and natural accents throughout.

I adore the juxtaposition between the pink magnolia wallpaper and the black and white lattice wool rug; it’s an unexpected touch that really elevates the design! The pink dresser and spindle bookcase add just the right amount of “bold” to the space too.

Once the key pieces were selected, it was time to sprinkle in all the thoughtful touches that bring depth and texture to a design. I introduced English garden bed sheets and a velvet seashell cushion, an oversized textural pendant with a rattan doll bed, and a pink sherpa bean bag for lounging and reading. Foldable storage crates, acrylic book ledges and a fabulous doll house add solid materials and textures to the room that really complement the modern vibe.

A gorgeous art print, empowering books and dolls that were hand picked with love, show my mini client that she too, has a voice. It’s a space in which she can feel seen and empowered… dream big, little one!
