Though every project i’ve ever touched is just as meaningful to me as the next, this one was extra special because I was given the opportunity to work with very close friends who had two weeks to prepare for the adoption of a newborn baby girl. That’s right, in just two weeks we worked to transform their guest room into a completely finished nursery. The second I received the news about baby’s soon-to-be arrival, I screamed with excitement and immediately started working on design concepts. I had a very clear picture of how my Clients wanted the space to feel; girly, soft and muted colour palette with floral touches, bohemian accents and natural wood tones. Within two days, the designs were approved and we were busy ordering products to make sure everything would arrive on time! We scheduled a few FaceTime calls to direct picture frame placement and book ledge height — my Clients worked so hard to pull this space together from afar, as we live in different cities! It was so beautiful to see them embrace this very short nesting period and witness so many people coming together to bring this adopted baby girl home in the most special way. Her nursery feels so warm and inviting, like a little glow of golden sunshine!
